This is a hand-wring, a rant, a plea, a ponder, a proof of ignorance or stupidity (no one would know if I didn't write anything). I try to say what I feel, think or question with integrity that includes honesty, candor. I try not to judge while giving my opinion and I hope I'll be called on it should my words offend or if my perspective seems too narrow or just wrong to you.
Updated: I am now 72. I am an economist, a businessman and a Catholic theologian by education. I resent institutions and individuals proclaiming sole knowledge. I distain being obliged to follow bureaucratic or dogmatic rules without question. I cherish my relatives and friends, though I tell them too infrequently. I get upset with friends who do not stay in touch, knowing that I do the same. I love them anyway. My biases: * I do not like Republican party politics since Teddy Roosevelt. * I am disappointed with current Democratic Party politicians. * My elected officials do not put my priorities before theirs. * I cannot abide persons whose attitudes toward others seem dismissive or somehow omitted from the universal entitlement to personal integrity and due respect. * Civility nurtures happiness and enjoyment of one's life. • Everyone needs to have some fun and to find contentment in life.
