To Render
The media discovered earlier this year that Cheney and the Joint Chiefs arranged to give over certain prisoners of war, insurgents, terrorists to countries in which torture is an accepted tool of interrogation. The countries named include Egypt, Jordan and Syria. Not mentioned--but not necessarily excluded--are Israel, Pakistan and the former Soviet republics bordering Iraq and Afghanistan. The "-istans" if you will. Who knows if Russia is a destination, too. The euphanism coined for referring to this clandestine effort is "to render" or "rendering".
