Take the Flu Prevention Program to Them
No lawyers, no politicians
The CDC is fretting that it lacks funds to fight avian flu overseas where local efforts and vaccine supplies seem unable to contain this virus. I think the necessary funding can come from DOD funds, because this flu is as real a threat to our nation as are Al Qaeda and other terrorists. And, since Bush justified the preemptive war premise in Afghanistan and Iraq, there is precedent for the US to take a preemptive, public health initiative into China, SE Asia, Turkey, Romania, etc. Fight this avian flu there so we don't have to fight it here. Eh, Dick and George?
